It is Not Good for Man to Be Alone – I Will Make Him a Lovebot?
The emergence of Lovebots—AI-driven humanoids designed for intimate relationships—raises profound ethical concerns, particularly as some argue they could replace human-human relationships that lie the core of human development. While some Jewish thinkers attempt to justify Lovebots through midrashic analogy to the Golem, I argue this misreads tradition, which demands looking at textual sources throuhg the lens of a thick moral tradition of Jewish thought.
