Siyum Mesechet Beitza

Mesechet Beitza is named not only for its opening word, but for the symbol that captures the essence of Yom Tov itself: the egg. It is my contention that the egg symbolizes the creative vocation we celebrate, the festive meal through which we rejoice, and the muktzeh-consciousness that keeps our attention fixed on the holiness of the day.
